This document applies to all information collected, stored and transmitted when using Map Log (“The App”) on the iPhone or any other device or platform.

Information Collected

The App allows the user to record and store their current location, the current date, images from the device’s camera or the user’s photo library. Access to the user’s location is authorized solely at the discretion of the user. Access to the camera and photo library are also authorized solely at the discretion of the user. The user can also enter text and numerical data to be associated with the recorded location data at their discretion.

Storage of Information

The information collected by the user is stored exclusively on the device. . The information is stored in an unencrypted state. Except as discussed in the Sharing Information section below, the information collected at no time is transferred by the App to any external location. The information may be transferred to an external location as part of an iCloud backup service or by some other third party product acting on the device storage as a whole.

Sharing of information

The App allows the user to share the information collected with the App with others at the sole discretion of the user. At no time does the App transfer information without the user initiating the transfer. Formats for sharing the information are native .mapLog format (JSON), comma-separated text format, plain text format, and portable document format (PDF). The user should be aware that no encryption is applied by the app when sharing the information via these formats.

iCloud

Except as noted above as part of an iCloud backup, the current version of the App (1.0) does not store the users information on iCloud.
